Since its founding over 50 years ago, JELD-WEN has been an innovator. Long before the topic was on everyone’s lips, respect for the environment was already a part of the Wendt family’s business culture. Upholding the tradition, JELD-WEN keeps their vision alive in its various Canadian plants day after day.

Concrete action

Throughout the month of June, JELD-WEN will donate $0.50 to the David Suzuki Foundation for every unique visitor to this website, for a total objective of $5000.

“As a company, we put a lot of effort and creativity every year into reducing our environmental footprint. It’s a vision that’s tangible at every level in the company. This year, we thought it would be neat to get people involved by asking them to help us support the David Suzuki Foundation. One click, and we can change things together!” said Lisa Bergeron, Government Relations Manager at JELD-WEN Canada.

The David Suzuki Foundation seeks to protect the diversity of nature and our quality of life, now and for the future. It is inspired by the vision that within a generation, Canadians act on the understanding that we are all interconnected and interdependent with nature. Protecting our climate, transforming the economy and protecting nature are some of the organizations objectives.

“Our Foundation is always happy to associate with projects that encourage environmentally responsible behavior and sensitize the population to sustainable development. We’d like to congratulate JELD-WEN for its efforts in this direction, and for winning the 2012 ENERGY STAR Manufacturer of the Year award in the doors and windows category,” said Karel Mayrand, Director General for Québec at the David Suzuki Foundation.
