The mission of Earth day in Canada is to galvanize and foster positive actions on behalf of the environment with individuals, organizations and businesses on April 22 and on every day of the year.
Earth day is one of the best recognized symbols of the environmental movement. Founded in 1970 by the American Governor Gaylord Nelson and the environmental activist Denis Hayes, this date is considered the birth of the environmental movement in North America.
“Throughout the entire year, JELD-WEN takes great care to think over our decisions and consider our actions so we can ensure they are eco-responsible. Our environmental committee regularly meets every two weeks. The committee is made up of members from each of the plant’s sectors of activity and it allows us to generate and implement ideas, results and measurable objectives in areas such as residual materials” stated Jérôme Samson, Engineering Representative to the Environmental Committee at JELD-WEN Canada in Saint-Apollinaire.
JELD-WEN, like many other businesses and individuals has been sensitized to the protection of our planet and we are working to further increase the eco-responsibility of our actions. We will be promoting the activities held on April 22 as a sign of our support for the environment.
